Kevin Durant has once again teamed up with Nike to release the next iteration in his signature shoe series, the Nike KD 16. First previewed on April 14, 2023, the KD 16 made its on-court debut during a playoff game between the Phoenix Suns, Durant's team, and the Los Angeles Clippers​​.

The KD 16 has been touted for its sleek design and innovative features. Bearing a striking resemblance to the KD 14, it features a low-cut construction with a textured multi-layer mesh on the forefoot and heel. This design is complemented by a synthetic mudguard that wraps around the entire model. A key upgrade from the KD 15 is the TPU caging system on the forefoot, which blends seamlessly into the split midsole. This system has been enhanced with breathability features on both the medial and lateral sides.
